The MASTER SCULPTOR

SCULPTOR Foam Cutting Machines : Made in the USA!

Because of the current economic conditions, we have decided to limit our production CNC machines to one low cost model. In designing this new model, the following requirements were given high priority:

Designed for the lowest cost possible while using only high quality parts.

Designed to be shipped partially dis-assembled in a small crate.

Designed to be easy for us to manufacture and easy to assemble by the buyer. We assemble each machine, test it, and disassemble it only enough to fit into its crate.

Designed using only stock items from the part suppliers. With each machine is a list of part suppliers and the part numbers of the components that they provide. Naturally, replacement parts can be ordered from American Hotwire Machines, but every part of the machine (except the waterjet cut parts and the plywood top) can be ordered from the part supplier as a standard item. The only custom parts used to manufacture the machine are waterjet cut pieces. These are pieces that are not subject to wear and are unlikely to ever need replacement unless damaged in an accident (for example: being hit by a forklift). Should a waterjet cut part of the machine need replacement, it can be ordered from American Hotwire Machines, or the damaged part can be taken to a local waterjet or plasma cutting shop and they could easily cut out a replacement. This gives assurance to the buyer of the SCULPTOR that replacement parts will always be readily available.

Designed to require almost no machining to any of the waterjet cut parts. Of the 32 parts, only 3 have minimal machining (drill and tap 2 holes). Parts that require machining are usually expensive.

Designed for low maintenance. The only maintenance is to occasionally add oil to the oiler/wiper pads that keep the rails and wheels clean and oiled.

Designed to be extremely easy and quick to adjust the hotwire so it is exactly level to the table top and parallel with the centerline of the table. This is only done once during initial assembly and will never need attention unless the harp (the moving portion of the machine) is knocked out of alignment.
