SCULPTOR Features SCULPTOR Features The SCULPTOR is built from high quality components supplied by world class manufacturers:
The aluminum framing is from BOSCH, the pioneer in the late 70's of the design and use of aluminum extrusions to build machines, conveyors, etc.. BOSCH is the world's largest supplier of these extrusions to industry. The MASTER SCULPTOR uses some of the largest sizes available in the construction of its frame and harps.

The motors and speed reducers are manufactured by ORIENTAL MOTOR, the world leader in motion control.

The cutting motion is controlled by the A3200 software from AEROTECH. For over 30 years AEROTECH has been a leading supplier of high performance, superior quality motion control and positioning systems and components to automotive, semiconductor, fiber optics, medical, defense and other industries, and to space agencies worldwide.

For first time users of computer controlled foamcutting equipment, learning to draw in the CAD (computer aided design) software is sometimes the most difficult part of getting started. The CAD software supplied with the SCULPTOR is Bob-WIRE from Bob-CAD, a well known supplier of software to machine OEM's (original equipment manufacturers) and machine shops throughout the world. The software is supplied with a manual with exercises to quickly get you started. Training can also be done online or over the phone. Or you can learn Bob-WIRE by visiting Bob-CAD's facilities for training. They can also send someone to train you in your facilities if you wish.

2-axis hotwire cutting

In 2-axis mode, a single 2-D drawing of the cutting path is all that is required. The hotwire cuts the same shape on both ends of the foam block. The finished piece has the same profile throughout its length.

4-axis hotwire cutting

In 4-axis mode the operator can cut shapes that have a different profile on each end. This makes it possible to easily cut shapes like tapered or tapered-fluted columns, tapered or distorted lettering for signs, and other 3-D shapes. The operator draws one 2-D drawing for each end of the shape to be cut. When the part has the same shape but a different size at each end, as in a tapered column, the operator needs to draw only one shape in the software and resize the drawing for the other end. The software will show the operator what the finished shape will look like before cutting begins. The 3-D image of the finished part can be rotated and viewed from any angle.

The CROSSBARs

The CROSSBARs are included with the PRO and MASTER versions of the SCULPTOR. This is a very useful feature because it can reduce cutting time dramatically. Depending on the model, the time can be reduced by 75%! Large jobs are common for foamcutting machines, so this feature alone will help repay the cost of the machine quickly.
