Hotwire Foamcutting Machines: The MASTER SCULPTOR
The MASTER SCULPTOR is a 4 to 8 block maximum capacity foamcutter that can cut with 1 to 4 hotwires.
The MASTER can cut in 2-axis mode or 4-axis mode. The harps can be ordered in 3 different heights to provide the following amount of vertical travel:
4 feet 6 inches (1.37 m.) (MASTER 4')
6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m.) (MASTER 6')
8 feet 6 inches (2.59 m.) (MASTER 8')

Image 9 of 9Order your PRO or MASTER with the Vertical Turning Lathe option and you can cut foam up to 8 foot in diameter. The maximum height for the PRO model is about 8 feet, the MASTER 4' will carve a block up to 6 feet tall, the MASTER 6' will handle up to 8' tall, and the MASTER 8' can go up to 10' high.

These drawings are to help you choose the best size of machine to meet your needs.
Block size is 4' (1.22 m.) wide, 3' (.91 m.) tall, and 8' (2.44 m.) long.
The PRO SCULPTOR is available in one standard size.
Other sizes can be custom ordered.
The MASTER SCULPTOR is available in one table size with 3 different harp heights. Other table sizes and harp heights can be custom ordered.
The table is 12 feet 6 inches (3.8 m.) wide and will hold 3 blocks side by side, or 4 blocks if they are placed on their side instead of laying flat.
When cutting with more than one hotwire, the wires are mounted on a 9.5' wide crossbar. The MASTER can cut up to 4 blocks at once, with one wire in each block.
The MASTER comes standard with 3 MAGIC-REELs. The hotwires will always have the ideal tension and will cut faster, waste less foam, and allow you to cut 4-axis work that is not limited by how much a hotwire extension spring can stretch.
For the ultimate flexibility in cutting 3-D shapes add the VTL (vertical turning lathe) option to your foamcutting machine.
The MASTER also includes a very handy wireless remote control for jogging. The remote control is a rugged industrial unit with a 150 foot range. It is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and can clip into a pocket or to a belt. The remote control lets the operator move the wire manually at cutting speed so that simple cuts can be made right from the remote without needing to draw in the computer. Or switch to rapid speed for quick positioning of the hotwire. Another button is for turning the hotwire on and off. There is also a pause button that halts the cutting until the button is pressed again.
Notice how the front harp carriage is at the high left position and the rear harp carriage is at the low right position. The MAGIC-REEL's allow the wire to become longer and yet always maintain the ideal tension for perfect results even in extreme 4-axis cutting.
The hotwire in these photos is shown as red hot for clarity only. The hotwires should never be heated to a glowing red, as this may shorten their life.
The MASTER SCULPTOR foamcutting machine shown in these photos is a prototype. The production machine has the table legs moved to the outside corners to provide a full 10 feet (3 m.) of horizontal travel, and the table top on the production machine is fully paneled to provide an 8.5 foot by 12.5 foot tabletop.
